Erica, an American, and Eddie, a Scotsman, met in Africa and were hooked. Deciding to get married meant making it a truly international affair with friends and family coming from all over the globe. The couple embraced the theme heartily and every aspect of the day reflected it. From a guest book with a map of the world for guests to mark where they were hailing from to the delightfully witty topping on their cake the day was a celebration of the globetrotting couple.

After their ceremony in the Canongate Kirk the thoughtful couple treated their guests to a whistle stop tour of Edinburgh’s finest sites aboard a classic city tour bus in addition to the usual fizz and canapés!

The grand tour theme carried on with table settings and wedding stationery by The Edinburgh Sketcher and flags for each guest to wave when their country or city was mentioned in the speeches.

Erica and Eddie chose a cake by Edinburgh’s own Heather’s Cakes with a witty paper elephant dancing on the top to represent the land that they met and fell in love in.

We couldn’t be more delighted to have been a part of this special day – and The Signet team went the extra mile (as always!) to ensure everything went off without a hitch. Even delivering a much needed cold lunch to the wedding party at their rooms in The Witchery before the ceremony!

“Thank you, thank you, thank you! Those two words simply aren't enough!

Fiona it was an absolute dream to work with you in the months leading up to our wedding. Your kindness, attention to detail and friendliness made the entire experience a real treat. You helped create such special memories for us! A million thank yous for all the tiny little extras that you oversaw – like printing the flags and having lunch sent over to The Witchery.

Ian you were an absolute star for putting up with our wild lot! Your time management, crowd control and MC-ing were spot on. We were very lucky to have you with us on our big day and I'm especially grateful for your warm hospitality that showed through regularly.

Please pass on our most heartfelt thanks to everyone at The Signet who helped to make our reception such a smash. Not only was the food delicious, but the servers presented it beautifully and with great precision. The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable and treated each guest like royalty. I know that there were many people behind the scenes who worked tirelessly to make it all happen so smoothly.

I can't imagine having had our reception in a more beautiful place than The Signet Library. Edinburgh feels all the more like home to me now that Eddie and I have wed here. Each time we are back from China I make my way to The Signet for a cup of tea and a friendly hello.

THANK YOU a million times over!”
– Erica and Eddie
