We’re immensely proud of our new tea salon, the Colonnades at the Signet Library – the perfect place for afternoon tea opening on 1^st June.  The location is superb, in the heart of Edinburgh just off the Royal Mile. Parts of the building date back to the 16^th Century and the first coffee house opened in Edinburgh in 1683 was located just outside. You can glimpse into the Parliament Hall which is used by Writers to the Signet and the Faculty of Advocates as you are welcomed into the salon. The Signet Library was completed in 1821 in time for the first visit by the King George.

The Colonnades has been beautifully restored after a £250,000 project undertaken by award winning hospitality providers, Heritage Portfolio. Lined with columns and surrounded by an ornate gallery, the former Lower Library has been transformed into and warm and welcoming salon.

Amidst Georgian grandeur, our Tea Sommelier will help you choose the perfect beverage to accompany our fabulous afternoon tea including our special WS blend, served in bespoke silverware by our friendly, exquisitely trained staff.  We’ll be showcasing prime, seasonal Scottish products. Our pastry chef has dreamt up a delicious tea featuring sweet and savoury delicacies for an indulgent afternoon.
